2020 has been an odd year for everyone, from endless lockdowns, to social distancing, through to mandatory mask wearing. The world seems to have been moving both at a snail’s pace and at 100 miles an hour.

As with all businesses this year COVID-19 has had an effect on how we operate, however we are still here, and we are still printing; thanks to the amazing businesses we work with and the wonderful BIDBI team who have stayed strong and who have worked incredibly hard.

Here is a roundup of BIDBI’s 2020

NHS Bags

This year has really shown Brits how incredible the NHS is and how lucky we are to have such an amazing healthcare system in the UK. We are so proud to have been part of some amazing NHS fundraising initiatives this year. NHS Surprise, organised by siblings Ella and Cameron, was a collection of goodies to donate to hard working NHS staff. We were also honoured to work with Kurt Geiger on their We Are One bags, which were featured on This Morning, and were sold to raise money for the NHS.

New Products

We have vastly expanded our variety or products to include new collections. These include additions to our Fairtrade and Organic Range, classic collection, and provenance collection. As well as new materials such as Recycled Cotton.

Our new Premium cotton canvas collection has some of our favourite classic shapes and designs, made from a premium heavyweight sturdy cotton canvas.

We expanded our Fairtrade and Organic range further with mesh produce bags, which are perfect for food storage. Made from Fairtrade & Organic cotton, our mesh produce bags can be used for fruit, vegetables, and fresh produce.

We have created our own range of face masks, coming in a range of colours with adjustable straps and a mouldable nose strip, ready to be printed for your business.

We’re really excited to be expanding our collections to include a wider range of products, offering our clients more in the way of ethical and sustainable options to showcase their brands and celebrate their values to their clients.” Lucy Kokot- Sales Manager

New Print Technique

We have welcomed some new printing techniques through our doors this year. Our new Edge to Edge printer allows us to offer full bleed/all over printing.  This type of printing is great for repeat patterns or if you want your design to cover the entire bag with no space around the edges. Once the fabric is printed it gets stitched in the UK, created a made in UK product from start to finish.

Achievements

Early this year we achieved GOTS! GOTS is the Global Organic Textile Standard. Having this accreditation means that all our bags with the label are 100% certified organic, having met the rigorous standards of the GOTS accrediting body. Giving you the assurance that your Fairtrade & Organic bags are truly organic.

BIDBI was awarded Platinum Feefo status meaning we have received 5-star reviews for over 95% of our ratings, over the past 3 years. More importantly, that means our customers are happy with the high-quality sustainable products, and great customer service we provide which is our main aim.

We were also winner for the Make UK Energy and Sustainability prize for the whole of the North East, Yorkshire, and Humberside region. We are so proud of this achievement. Whilst BIDBI is a growing company we are still quite small, and it is wonderful to be recognised as a player in sustainable manufacturing.
